I was just playing with a spreadsheet to try and sort out meal planning and though "I bet there is an app for that". So does anyone have one they can recommend? All I'm after is something with lists I can add the types of foods we eat so I can pick something off a list for each day of the week. Maybe with different categories - e.g. I could pick one main and one side/salad for example.

I used Pepperplate for a while - there's a PC version that syncs with your app. Can't say I was obsessed with it. But, it's worth giving it a try (and it's a free app)

i think this is an untapped market! something that has a shopping list function and where you can enter a few ingredients and be given suggested recipes. i always have leftover something (sour cream, feta, etc) and want to find recipes that use up as much as possible.

anyone know anything about app development?

I think Epicurious does this.... And, not an app (although maybe they have one?) but a website: allrecipes

I've used Mealboard for a longtime, good for meals and shopping lists.
Ive just started using Paprika which is fantastic for collecting recipes fom the web and looks ok for meal planning, though haven't used it for that yet.

I use Mealboard too, which is as functional as I need it to be.
