DD1 often complains of having a "sore tummy". No other related symptoms. She then goes on to play or eat or whatever just fine. Does anyone else's preschooler do that? I'm wondering if it's a stress thing? She's a happy kid, but me and DH are often stressed and she picks up on it. Any ideas? |

Hi, my DD used to do this - I thought it was nothing serious as she was otherwise fine so didn't do anything (I thought it was behavioural). However, I did end up seeing a GP about it some time later and he referred her to a gastro paed who diagnosed constipation. Needless to say, I felt terrible, even though she was regular so I had no idea.
So my suggestion for what its worth would be to let your doctor know, just in case. |

Worthwhile seeing GP and getting it noted.
Kids can get stomach migraines. I know when I was finally Dx with migraine at 12 GP said that explained lots of my childhood ( I also had appendix out too). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-...e-migraine.html |

Perhaps keep an eye on her bowel movements (too soft or too hard or regular etc.) and see if you can see a correlation between when she complains and what happens next.
If they tend to be a bit hard, is she getting enough fiber in her diet? Too much processed food used to give my DS a bit of constipation (savoury biscuits particularly for some reason). And lots of fruit like apple and grapes would fix him up! |
