DD will be 7 at the start of grade 2, turning 8 later in the year of grade 2. Most of her friends will turn 8 some time that year.

Six or seven, assuming they start FYOS at four or five. I would think more than half would be seven at the start of year 2.

Depends on what state you are in to a certain extent original.gif In ACT to be in year 2 you should turn 7 by 30th April that year - so most of the students in my year 2 class this year will be 7 (or nearly 7) when school starts, with the occassional 8 year old (who was 'held back' from starting school, repeated a year etc).

There is no mid year cut off it's SA and they are still on rolling intakes.

They could be ANY AGE!!!!

DS is 9 going into Year 4, so he was 8 going into Year 3 ...

It would be safe to say most of the Year 2s will be 7 turning 8 and most of the Year 3s will be 8 turning 9 ... I think!

*this just proves that maths shouldn't be done at the end of the day!*
