Definately peanut butter. Don't use the old wooden traps (mouse ate peanut butter from it 3 of these traps laid the same night!!!!) but get one of those plastic ones that you activate by squeezing the 'ends' together. Mine is black. First time I put it down - mouse caught in 4 hours.

Bacon rinds - and tie them on!

And as much as I hate plastic when other things can be used zzgirl is right - those silly looking plastic traps ARE better than the old faithful wooden ones.

I like cats, but I couldn't eat a whole one.
What kind of traps, precisely? We had a mouse for a couple of nights recently and I'm still unable to sleep. "Humane" traps haven't caught it, so I'm moving to the Mortein ones that lure, kill and contain them tonight.

Chocolate. They love chocolate.
Make sure the traps are well away from children though.
