Because I can.

So I was just in the bathroom carefullly applying magic stuff to hide the 2 inches of pure white re-growth in my hair, while DD 8 sat there and talked me through it.
She was going all girlie, what are you doing, can I try your makeup, can we have a mummy-daughter day tomorrow and so on.
I suggested we go for pedicures together before I really thought about what I'd said. To put things in context, I've had one of those in my life, 8 years ago before my sister's wedding, but I've always wanted to do it again, as, sadly, my buggered back makes it hard for me to actually reach my own toes to do it myself.
DD still has baby toenails, bless her, but she'd love a shiny polish on there and just sharing the experience.
Is 8 too young for that? She's already had her toenails painted many times by friends and friend's mums at sleepovers. Would a pedicure place even accept an 8 year old?
She just thinks the whole thing is such a fun girlie thing, I'm leaning towards going for it.
Your thoughts?

Give me my coffee and no one gets hurt!!!

Why not? DD12. is a really girly-girl. Me not so much. But I enjoy taking her out for a lunch and a pedi together. We've done a few since she was 8 or 9. I get the full thing (including the heel scraping ) she just gets a foot massage and a nail paint. She gets to feel so grown up, and I find the time just sitting side by side in the chairs good for her to talk to me in a more relaxed way.

Seems lovely, fun and totally harmless as an occasional mother and daughter treat to me!
