So it's 2am here in WA and DH just came in and told me he has found a baby rabbit.
He heard screaming so went outside to check and the neighbour's cat had something in its mouth. DH managed to retrieve it and it is a baby rabbit. It's tiny, about the size of an avocado. It has no blood on it so I'm assuming DH got to it before the cat was able to do any serious damage, it's ear looks a bit floppy though
It's a public holiday today so I'm not sure if there are any vets open.
It is in the spare room, in a box (safely away from our 6 cats). We have given it some spinach and fruit.
How do we care for it in the mean time? Will the vet put it down because it's a pest? Rabbits are allowed as pets in WA but we don't want it to be put down automatically? I hope it doesn't climb out of the box! Maybe we should have put it in a cat cage.
