I have been using our SnS Compaq (new model) in the FF position for DS2 who is 4. He is now in a booster and DS3 is going into the Compaq in the RF position (6 months).

When the installer installed the seat in the FF position he included a locking clip. I have read the manual carefully and am confident that I can install it correctly in the RF position but there is no mention of the locking clip anywhere in the manual. I am not sure whether I need it or not and if so is there somewhere I can read how to use it properly.

I do plan on having the fitting checked asap.

Thanks Isolabella! Now I understand why it was needed for the FF position. My seatbelt locks so I don't think I need it for the RF position. Will install without and then get it checked and see what they say.

To get a firm installation with locking seatbelts, engage the seatbelts locking mechanism, install the restraint and buckle the seatbelt. Then undo the buckle and allow the seatbelt to retract another click or two. Put all your weight (or someone else!) in the restraint and do the seatbelt up again. It should be in firmly. I find by doing this I no longer need a locking clip.
