Hi ladies,
I want to buy a new Ergo carrier. The official website doesn't have a section for Australia, and looking on ebay there seem to be heaps of cheap ones from China, which I assume are fakes? And some from Singapore - how can you tell?
I want to buy a genuine one for a reasonable price - happy to buy last years colour on sale or something.
Does anyone have any tips?
Thanks!

Stay well away from eBay, it's not worth it.

There's an online store called bellaslittleones that sell them, I think on sale at the moment? Official seller too.

We bought ours at one of the baby shows... the seller was very helpful & showed us how to use it. They were offering "show only" discounts. We haven't used them as much as we thought we would (we bought one each, due to size difference - DH is 193cm & has the "performance" as it has longer straps, I'm 160cm & have the original). I'm glad we got them, though. They'll probably get a lot more use with the next baby biggrin.gif

Thanks for the tips ladies.....great that there are some sales on too!
I think Mothers Direct look the cheapest at $127.20.

I had a baby bjorn for my last baby and since he was so big I found it quite hard on my back. Looking forward to having the Ergo and being able to use it as a back carrier as well when new bub is bigger.

Try gumtree as well. We bought a brand new one from a seller who was give two at a baby shower. Paid $70 and it hadn't been opened. Best purchase, I just wish I had one 10 years ago!

If you're looking at online retailiers, check Babes In Arms to see if they're an authorised reseller (Babes In Arms is the Australian distributor).

If you're buying second hand be very very careful - the fakes are very well done and totally not worth risking. http://thehumbledoula.wordpress.com/2012/0...o-baby-carrier/ is well worth a read

I see the ergo sport on special a lot at Babies R Us and Baby Bunting. I got mine on Gumtree. If you buy second hand ask the seller for the serial number that is inside the hood pocket. If it doesnt have one that starts with EBC.......... It is a fake.
I love love love my ergo. Shame it took me til number 5 to find it original.gif
