I love my ASKO. It is huge inside and very quiet. When I first got it I had to keep checking it was on because I couldn't hear it! biggrin.gif I was deciding between Bosch/Miele and ASKO and went with the ASKO in the end because the arms and runners are stainless steel instead of plastic. They are all good machines though IMO from what I gathered in my research.
My Mum has the Bosch with the cutlery drawer and I much prefer the basket - so does Mum now she's tried it. I guess, like washing machines, people have different things they like and dislike.

I have Miele, and after having several other brands over the years, I can't imagine I will ever go with any other brand again. It has a cutlery drawer which I love, but TBH it's only really useful if it's next to your cutlery drawer so you can put the clean cutlery away easily (which in our case it is). The link is for the same one I have.

We have a Bosch (7 or 8 yrs old) & have had no problems. It does have plastic runners & baskets though if that is a decider - but we have needed no servicing or had problems. Its reasonably quiet too & a full wash cycle takes between 45 mins & 1 hour. Had it all this time & not absolutely certain about this (cycle times) but I would def recommend.

ETA - forgot to add my minutes original.gif

ASKO all the way. It is so quiet I often go to put dishes in it when it is on. Also mine has no buttons on the outside so my DD can't turn it on

On the advice of EB I recently purchase a Miele and love it. Its so quiet and cleans everything really well.

It was well worth the extra expense.

I have a meile, and I must be the only one that hates it. I am forever putting more rinse aid in and of late it hasn't been draining, even after removing filters and scrubbing them etc. I use dishwasher cleaners too to keep it clean. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. But it's just a year old and I swear I had little to no problems with my much cheaper and older westinghouse. 😠

This is me too. I have had nothing but trouble and has never cleaned the dishes well. I do like the cutlery draw but that's it.

Father Dougal for the Papacy!
We bought a Bosch recently and love it. Very quiet, love the cutlery drawer, the dishes come out clean. The 29 minute cycle is good enough for most loads.

We went through this process recently with my MIL. I think any of the brands you've mentioned could be good, although i'd stay away from the lower end bosch machines made in turkey, as i believe some of the interior is plastic rather than steel. We took a sampling of her largest/most awkwardly shaped and most frequently used pots and serving dishes, plus a mug, wine glass, bowl, plates etc to a shop with a wide range of floor stock, and started seeing how things fitted in. It was a bit of a circus but made the decision much easier. Also look at where you can put sharp knives if there won't be a cutlery rack. Also try getting to and cleaning the filter. We've had an asko and 2 mieles including the current base model in the family and been happy with all of them. Good luck!
