Hi there,

Last night whilst late shopping at our local shops, my DD's & I stumbled across $1200 on the footpath.
It was wrapped in a note saying "Thursdays taking's"'. I t was abvious one of the small local businesses had lost it.

We took it and handed it into centre management. They were going to hand it in to the police.

So today I have had so many people tell me how stupid I was to hand it in?? I am really disheartened that sooooo many people feel like this.

So, my question is, would YOU have handed it in?

I think you did the right thing but I would have taken it to the police station myself.. not saying that centre management arent honest but if you leave your details with the police when you hand something in, if it isnt claimed after a certain period of time its yours.

Of course!

Do you think people are actually serious when they say that you should have kept it? I hope it's just silly, flippant comments and not an accurate reflection of what they would have done in your position.

Yes, I would have handed it in. A days takings is a lot for a small business to lose!
But I know too many people who would pocket it.
