I am scheduled to have the mirena inserted next Tuesday 12 Feb but I am currently on the contraceptive pill (yasmin). The doctor said insertion is best straight after AF because then you know you are not pregnant.
My question is regarding timing. If I stop the pill say tomorrow, which is a week before my appointment, will I get AF straight away or will it take days in which case I may not be finished AF by the 12th. Or should I just stop the pill today? Or does it even matter if I have AF for mirena insertion? Hopefully someone can help. Thanks |
