I've seen a few old topics on this, but nothing too recent.

I've just started a blog, not on a particular theme, just about me, cooking, the kids, etc. It's out there, but I don't really know what to do with it, in terms of sharing.

I'm guessing the best step would be to reach out to other bloggers.

So, do you have a blog? What's it about? How often do you update? Link, if you'd like to share original.gif

I have a blog and fb page. It is about clothes as I am a Personal Stylist. I started it before I was a PS and got encouraged to actually change careers.

I try to update it at least once a week but it depends on how busy I am.

To get followers I post updates on fb.

I'm doing a uni unit at the moment that has required me to start a blog and have a web presence. A web presence is basically how it sounds. Start contributing nodes (twitter, Pinterest, Flickr etc) and link them all to your blog. Every time you post, tweet about it with a link. Add links from your blog to these nodes. If you look at other blogs you can see they have RSS feeds and twitter buttons and whatever else they're using to advertise their blog and get it out there. Follow and comment on other people's blogs and join the community.

Sorry, long winded but that's where you should go from here.

I keep *telling* myself I'm going to start one, since I've had to wind down regular freelance journalism due to time constraints. I figure, if I have my own science blog I can write up the things I'm interested in - I'm on a few press-release lists for the big journals - in my own time and not have the stress-out of meeting a deadline. And when I do do some paid work I can link to it.

Mostly it's just to keep writing, really, while things are too crazy for me to keep up with paid freelancing. Perhaps I shall post here when I've got it under way!

Yep, I blog. Only started last year and not anywhere near as good as the blogs I follow. It is hard to decide how much to reveal. I don't show pictures of my kids faces or reveal where we live etc.
