My 14 year old DD has desperately wanted to get rollerblades for a while now - I know nothing about how to find good ones, what to look for, how much to expect to pay, or where you can go to look at them and try them on (we're in Sydney). We've found a few online shops but that's not much good when she still needs to try them.

Any experts out there?

TIA

I'd find your nearest rollerskating rink and they'll sell them. There is a large one called Epic rink in NSW: https://www.facebook.com/EpicSkateRink?fref=ts not sure where that is though I'm from VIC. In any case, a rollerskating rink is definitely your best shot!

ETA expect to pay around $100 ish - give or take.

Thanks Katakacpk - good idea! Epic is way north of us, but I can find a local one. Can't believe I didn't think of that! ddoh.gif

Dont cry because it's over... smile because it happened
If you are wanting quality, expect to pay a reasonable price for it.

We bought our DD1 (7) rollerblades for Christmas just gone from SportPower - they cost $160

Loving life as a Mama!
I have been a rollerblader from way back, and thinking of starting again, but the $ is putting me off.

As a beginner you should always start with the hard cased shoe, that way there is no chance of rolling an ankle. Skater HQ in Moore Park and Manly have a great range original.gif
