Evening Everyone!

Seeking some answers:

I'm scheduled to have a Laparoscopy, D+C Hysterscopy and Dye Study on Monday Afternoon for suspected severe Endometriosis that has had me present to ED the pain is so severe coupled with Heavy and Irregular bleeding. All simple procedures except I have extensive scarring from a Laparotomy in 2011 which my Ob/Gyn/Fertility Specialist suspects will give him some headaches.

How long do you think I'll be in hospital? and was should I expect post surgery?

What should I suspect with the Endometriosis treatment wise and impact on Fertility?

Hi there. Sorry you're going through this.

I have had a laparatomy and 3 laparoscopys.

With the laparotamy, I was off work for two weeks.

With the other laps, 3 days. Recover was definitely faster in terms of pains, although I did has a lot of shoulder pain after all three and I think work on day four was too much in retrospect as my back ached for ages.

I'd take a week off if your work allows - your Dr. will say less but I'd ask for more.

in terms of the hospital stay - mine was hystersocopy and dye studies tyoo for my third lap, and it was still a day procedure.

Sorry to scare you but just trying to give honest feedback of myexperience- yours might be totally different.

I agree about one week too. I have had 9 laps, next stop for me is hysterectomy as my endo has plagued me for the last 25 years. I always take a week or so. Depending on what they find or do while you are under. Do they suspect the bowel is involved too? As that can make recovery longer as well. I usually stay in hospital over night because I react badly to general anaesthetic.

Luckily I'm only working Nurse Bank currently so I've put in unavailability for a week and a half.

I've heard about the shoulder tip pain, anything aid in subsiding the pain?

Not sure if they suspect Bowel is involved, although I believe it is. I've has issues with my bowels and have been given the all clear with a colonoscopy.
