Hi. My iPad started misbehaving. The volume icon keeps coming onto the screen. It is hard to get rid of and I can Increase volume but not decrease, unless I use mute, then it goes back to zero. The volume bar which appears when I play iview is fine. This is a very new thing. I have reset the machine three times using the two buttons, but not a factory reset. I have closed all apps. Has anyone else experienced this? Started before I installed the IOS 6 or whatever it is called. Bought the machine last year. Don't live in country of purchase ( Australia ) anymore, but might be there before the first year of ownership is up. I have tried googling, but not much is coming up that applies or has a reported solution.

What a hassle! It sounds like a known issue, according to this discussion. A few suggestions are mentioned but maybe switching on the assistive touch function might help you?

Thank you for replying and finding the discussion. I hadn't seen it. We have come back from a trip to Cambodia with it and suddenly the button works again. Maybe it needed a change of scenery! Or a non- humid environment. It has never been dropped or mishandled and has a wonderful case, so it isn't from denting. Very mysterious.
