I have just had baby number one & won't be trying for another 3yrs at least. So do you have an Implanon Nxt? If so any bad side affects? Weight gain etc How often do you get AF, if you were regular before? & lastly for those who have had babies after using one, how long did it take for a BFP once the implanon was removed. Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance I gained 17kg in 18months on this and started getting migraines for the first time. It takes about 3 months after it is removed for all the hormones to work their way out of you system. It didn't have any problems conceiving after this even though the side effects where quite bad for me.

I had implanon before my pregnancies, and cannot recommend it enough. The only side effect was that my period stopped completely (not that I was complaining).
Once it was out, it took 2 months to concieve, and I'm pretty sure the first month I wasn't paying attention and didn't BD at the right time, so no effect on fertility.
The only thing I would suggest is to try taking the mini pill (progesterone only pill) for a couple of months before you get the implanon. Some women react quite badly to it, and it is a lot easier to stop taking a pill than getting the implant out, so you can see how it will affect you. Don't be surprised if you get light spotting, it seems to be relatively common for the first couple of months.
If you do get it, you should be able to feel it under the skin. Make sure you can feel it (or your doctor can) before you rely on it, as if it is mis-inserted (ie not inserted at all), you are not covered.

I had it for a few months about 6 years ago and hated it. I felt like I had pms all the time, horrible horrible acne and spotting. It was difficult to remove and has left a very visible scar on the inside of my arm. Best thing I did was remove it.
