DD has asked for a sand castle/sand pit cake this year so I was wondering if anyone has had a crack at one that the could share a pic and instructions on how they made it.
Would be very interested to see any others along the same lines as well... or any birthday cakes really. original.gif
TIA

My beastie did a sand castle for her dd one year.

Biscuit crumbs stuck to buttercream icing. Three round cakes like steps (if that makes sense), ice cream cones for turrets.

I think she may have found it in women's weekly birthday cake book/mag.

Thanks! I had seen the brown sugar cover cake but wasn't too keen on feeding a handful of 4 year olds full of sugar... biscuits might be a little better.

I'll goggle the mags and see if I can kind the articles...

Would still love to see pics if anyone has any...

Yep I've goggled pics but I guess I am looking for a bit of instruction on what icing to use... how to cut out/stick on the sticky up bits etc... the construction I guess.

This cake tin, covered in fine raw sugar so it looks like sand.
I think I've seen silicone versions of that tin in Kmart (I have the one linked)
