When we set up DS1s bedroom we bought a rug from Ikea like this one:

It has pilled badly and doesn't look too bad now after 6 years of vacuuming but really is still a PITA to vacuum as the crap gets caught in the pilled bits. It is mostly wool and partly acrylic. ...ETA it's actually 80% wool 20% nylon.

So we are now setting up DS2s bedroom and looking for a kids rug recommendation.
Something fairly tasteful and understated I guess, but still kiddy friendly.
I did find this but it says it is 100% acrylic, so what would that feel like?

Any suggestions?

Have you tried shaving the pilled bits off? With an old-fashioned razor that doesn't have lubricated soaps on either side of the blades?

There are some really nice rugs for kids (including the one you are interested in) at www.wayfair.com.au

I bought an outdoor rug from them and I was very happy with it.
