By this (subordinate) do you mean you have to put issues of conscience aside and do things that 'go against' your religious conscience?
If so, yes. I end up handling it by just not saying anything because although I don't find it much IRL it's impossible to really speak on EB on a significant number of issues. When I have in the past the disapproval, disbelief and general frowning has been quite alienating. Now I tend to just not say anything.
But in general life I don't find that religion makes a whole lot of difference. if I talk about it IRL people listen politely and ask questions if they find it odd. I am rarely challenged or given a negative viewpoint/hard time. If the others are uncomfortable we generally just change the subject and everyone keeps on their merry way.
