Just wondering if anyone knows what sort of reporting should be done by daycare centres? My child went to a brand new centre for 7 months and at the end of the year we received no feedback at all, no portfolio. Do centre's have to give formal feedback to parents or is it an individual choice. Also I asked the centre if i could see the reporting that has been done on my child and no information has been forthcoming. As a parent I can legally ask to see the information they are storing about my child can't I? Don't want to push too hard because I understand they are a new facility but to have my child there for 7 months and no feedback seems a little strange (Or lazy)
YES! there should be a portfolio may not be up to date but it should be there and easily located by you.
there should be regular learning observations at least 1 a month my full time children generally got at least 2.
if there is no formal obs done they cant accurately program and that breaches regs.
speak to the director about your concerns
