My favourite autobiography is "Harpo Speaks" and is written by Harpo Marx. I had little knowledge of the Marx brothers but picked up this book one day and it was one of the most funny, entertaining and moving autobiographies that I'd ever read. It tells the story of the Marx's very poor beginnings as a large Jewish family in New York and traces the Marx brothers careers up until they retired. A great read.

I read an excellent one a while back, called Seabiscuit. It was about a racehorse.

Seabiscuit by Lauren (Laura?) Hillenbrand is excellent, I agree!

Recently read and really liked Stasiland by Anna Funder, and Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. Also liked Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer, but nowhere near as much as Into Thin Air. original.gif

My husband is currently reading and loving Unreliable Memoirs by Clive James.

Thanks.

Seabiscuit doesn't interest me, however I do plan on reading Laura's latest book Unbroken.

'Unbroken' is a great book.

Also have a look at 'The Sisters Antipodes' by Jane Alison.

Pretty much any biograpy by Claire Tomalin. Especially the one on Samuel Pepys.

Read Unbroken recently and much preferred Seabiscuit. I wasn't a pony club girl, either. wink.gif They're both pretty good.
