Really idiotic question coming up. I have bought songs from Itunes and I can play them on my computer with no problem, but I would like to put them on a CD so I can play them in the car. When I put the cd in my car (or cd play for that matter) nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Is there a special program to convert to CD from whatever format that Itunes uses, or are CD's and ITunes not compatible?

I can't help with burning CDs, but there are quite a few gadgets around to support iPods in cars. Even if you don't have a USB port, you can run your music through a cigarette lighter etc -the beauty of iTunes are not using CDs anymore. I'd invest in a device to support playing your iPod/ iPhone for your car through the existing speakers.

Anyway, I'm sure somebody can answer your original question

1. Is you selection when you enter the disc into the computer and the window pops up set to audio or is it on data? It needs to be on audio
2. Have you used a decent quality disc
3. Are the cd-r (audio) or DVD (won't work for music)
4. Just to make sure... You have your chosen songs in a created playlist, you then put your disc in, a window pops up asking about how long you want in sec's between songs and if it's an audio or data cd, then you click burn

Paod - thank you, thank you. I am such a trog, but with your help I got it to work. (Some reason though I had to put in a new blank disk, it wouldn't remove the songs on the disk I had.)

Depending on how old the stereo in the car is it may not play .m4a (MPEG 4) format music which is the format that iTunes use so it still may not play.

I would seriously consider looking for an iPod adapter for your car if your existing stereo does not have either a USB or Aux point to plug in an iPod.

Alternatively you can do what I did and replace the entire stereo in the car, I did however replace the car stereo for a few reasons but iPod connectivity was a part of it.

My brother bought me a mobile/car adaptor. The radio tunes into the phone...or something like that. It means that I can play all my music and it charges it too.

He got it from Jaycar for $10. They do sell them at JBHifi but hey are more like $50.
