Just need some advice

I'm currently on the contraceptive pill Levlen ED which I changed to about 18 months ago or so (was on Marvelon for several years before that).

I've found that my moods have been really weird over the past 6 months or so and even my husband has commented on how moody I've been lately. I've always been an emotional person but lately I'm a lot more snappy and I get cranky at the smallest thing. I'm finding it really hard to deal with because I know its not fair on my husband and even my dogs when they cop the brunt of my snapping or moodiness.

Could my moods be caused by the different type of pill that I'm on now and could changing the pill help my moods?

TIA.

I was like you - and since changing to Zoely i have never felt better. It is more expensive but well worth it... i also used to be on Jasmin which was awesome - but since my second DS i found myself quite moody - definitely get it checked out ...

It may be the pill, or it may be something else. Has anything else changed in your life in the past six months? I would recommend that you go and see your GP to discuss this.

I am on BCP before starting our next IVF cycle and it is also Levlen ED. I definetely feel out of sorts emotionally and In the 4 weeks on it I have put on 4 kg but I have been exercising and eating a very well balanced diet 1200 cal. I can't wait to finish with this pill on the 22nd of this month. If I had to stay on it I would request Jasmine or Diane again.

If anything, my life has improved over the past 6 months. Thats why its so confusing to me that I'm always so cranky and moody. I've gotten married to an amazing man who loves me and work has improved so thats not causing as much angst as it was last year. And everything else is as good or bad as it always has been. I'm definitely going to make an appointment with my doctor to discuss changing the pill to see if that helps.

In that case, it looks like you might have hit the nail on the head. Moodiness can be a common side effect of many brands of the pill. Good idea getting to your GP, that's the best way of getting to the bottom of it. Good luck! original.gif
