We've just turned our Meridian AHR Tilt n Adjust around to forward facing (and DH and I didn't kill each other in the process - win!) but the front seems a bit wobbly and raised off the seat. It seems very securely anchored to the back of the seat, but the bottom front of the seat doesn't seem to connect with the seat of the car. If we try to tighten the seatbelt is actually raises the front bit higher. Is there anything I can do to secure it, or is this normal? Or should I just give up and call an installer?

We had to use a rolled up beach towel under the back part of the base to get the front to sit flat. It was installed like this by a professional installer (recommended by RACV), so I'm assuming it's safe. Darned car seats should all be flat, none of these cushioned seats messing up child seat installation!

Pool noodle/foam wedge/towel to help even out the seat. That is where professional install the first time is handy as often they will have the foam/noodle to help get the seat sitting right.

Yep, ours was professionally fitted and has a towel wedged underneath it - doesn't move now. I agree it's a total PITA to have to wedge a seat into place.

It can also depend on where on the back seat you are trying to install it, because it has a wide base it does not sit well in the centre of the rear seat of many vehicles as the centre is often narrower and slightly raised, I found it needed to be in one of the side positions that are wider and have a slight dip to fit well.

Does it move more than 2.5cm side to side if you push it at the belt path? Also, sometimes in FF mode a seat will install better in upright mode rather than reclined so try that too.

I had this thought. Our middle seat is quite narrow, and the seat belt is also a bit odd because we drive a wagon. I know it's safer in the middle, but not if its moving I guess!

I think it does move this much. It's currently in reclined position, so I'll try it upright. Will also try the towel and the side seats before calling someone out. Thanks all
