Alabama rep thinks a baby is the largest organ in a woman's body and her aim appears to be to shut abortion clinics to "keep women safe".

You know they still manage to surprise me with the stupid crap they make up. Everytime I think they've said the stupidest thing, they find something worse.

A baby is an organ? Really? Then how come removing it doesn't kill you like removing say your heart? Gah, where is that facepalm smilie when you need it.

If a baby is an organ, can I transplant it so someone else will get the SPD?

I walked past a group of people yesterday surrounded by banners with the pink ribbon logo. They were handing out flyers and I took one as I walked past. I was horrified to find out upon reading the flyer that they're an anti-abortion group - the "breast cancer pevention institute". Apparently babies prevent breast cancer, so abortion causes it. I walked back and gave them a piece of my mind - SO misleading for them to be using the pink ribbon logo!

Oh, and apparently only full term pregnancy prevents breast cancer (and I'm not saying it doesn't have some benefits, it probably does, but that's not the point), but that's a bit of a bummer for those with premmie babies, isn't it! I suppose I should be contacting the BCN to let them know their ribbon is being used...

Can someone please tell me how people who lack even the most basic knowledge of biology can get this far in life? And be capable of making decisions that directly affect many, many people?????

Honestly? Because the truly smart and balanced people don't get involved in politics.
