I experienced a very bizarre moment on the weekend in Woolworths. DH, DD and I were doing our grocery shopping, everything was normal, and then I saw it...

A woman using a twin baby capsule trolley with no babies anywhere to be seen.

I honestly stopped dead in my tracks. EB had come to life and was right there in my local Woolworths. Past threads from EB raced through my mind and I seriously expected that an outraged twin/multiples mum was going to appear and give the woman a piece of her mind. I forced myself to start walking again, thought that maybe there were babies somewhere else who would catch up to the woman (being changed by dad perhaps?) and therefore the twin trolley would be "justified" IYKWIM.

A few aisles later I saw the woman and trolley again. Nope, no babies still.

Another aisle or two, definitely no babies.

Actually this is when I learned what the real purpose of the twin trolley was: the baby capsules provided very handy elbow rests for her teenage son to use as he pushed the trolley. My DH noticed it by then, and knew that twin trolleys were an EB topic, and told me to take a picture and post it. I wasn't brave enough to because the woman/mum looked really mean and scared me a bit.

I was still expecting a twin/multiples mum to appear and tell this woman off. Sadly, it didn't happen that I know of.

FTR there were plenty of trolleys available, and the baby capsule trolleys (single and twin) are used by the staff to block off closed checkouts so they aren't usually anywhere near the trolley bay, but can be easily found by those who need them.

Has EB and real life ever collided for you?

Mostly with names ....I see a strange/unusual/weird name and right away I think what would EB think of that name. This week in our local paper a five year old called Shizannah!!!!!

I had a similar thing today.

I went down to the local shopping centre. The three disabled parks near the door where I wanted to go were full and of the 10 people with prams parks, 3 were free, the next closest park was quite a distance away.

I had to make a decision, would a disabled sticker make it ok to park in a people with pram parks.

Yep, witnessed two little girls (aged about 2 and 4) running around pulling baby baths off the shelves in Target with no parents around. They managed to line them all up in the aisle and were jumping in and out of them like a hopscotch game for a good 5 mins.

I was worried they were going to trip and hurt themselves so I alerted an employee. Then I thought about EB and wondered if I should be minding my own business instead

Also at the shops today. Pulled in to a parents w prams spot (with dd etc) and in the next spot was a car, windows down, no driver. Undercover car park.

12yo girl in front, 4yo and 1yo boys in back. Boys still had seatbelts on I think.

Just made me wonder about eb's opinion on leaving the kids in the car like that w the 12yo. Fwiw not something I picture myself doing.

I hope you did! Children aren't a disability. (And I have 2x 3 year olds and I 1 year old). I'd happily give up PWP prams in favour of more disabled parks.

JRA that reminds me. Every time I see a ute parking outside Coles liquor land picking up a carton or two.

Pity the closest park is the disabled park beside the PWP .

Appears the need for disabled parking or parents is over ridden by idiots need to drink.

And ELKO every time I see uneek names I want to ask EB, but for fear their parents may be here too I keep it to myself!

I parked in a PWP spot today with my toddler.

Yep, went to Coles the other day with my 2yo and 11 mo and all the twin trolleys were taken. I asked the trolley man and he couldn't find one. So I had to put my 2yo in the large section of he trolley and the 11 mo in the seat. The 2 yo kept trying to leap out of he trolley, and kept trying to eat everything in it which was so embarrassing. It was a nightmare.

Anyway, I too had an epiphany and thought back to EB treads and wondered whether I am actually allowed to use the twin trolley when my kids are 13 months apart...... They are not officially twins but .......

Forgot to mention tat when I did finally see the twin trolley... It was being used by someone who had 1 kid and a rather large handbag, she didn't even blink when she saw me juggling mine... Go figure

Funnily enough the day before I had forgotten my sticker when we went for coffee. As we were sitting outside someone came and parked in the two disabled park nearby, taking them both up. And got out of her car. DH could not cope, and made some comment. She got really p*ssed off and drove off in the end, the two tables near us, congratulated DH for having a go at her.

She thought it was oK she was only going in to get a coffee so it would not have taken long
