Hi we have a biopsy this week for our 2 year old DS who is 90 percent chance of celiac. His ttg was 16000, understand supposed to be under 7.
I have been gf myself after a series of miscarriages so understand the extent of what is involved but am looking for some support from other mums with gf kids
Does anyone know of an online or fb support group for parents of gk kids for recipe swapping etc? I k ow there is ROCK but they all seem o/s and a local one would be great
We are looking at moving and I'm worried about day cares, the one we have is great but this is Sydney and they are all so hard to get into anyway, I'm worries they will just quietly not admit us as too much trouble. Anyone know any good daycares in this regard in the inner west of Sydney?

Hey OP - council run day cares are often more in-tune with the requirements for kids and work to ensure that GF can be accommodated. You may end up having to provide your own food, especially for the first little while, until the centre can accommodate. In terms of companies - Ku Children's services also have a good reputation for inclusion for a range of needs.

I am loving the new and improved bread from Country Life (buttercup brand) - the white and multigrain are really quite nice and even a few of my non-GF friends have commented that the taste is pretty good.

I buy Country Life bread and Zehnder pizza bases and desserts. San Remo pasta seems the best of the gf varieties. We stick with fresh fruit and veg, rice crackers, plain rice, and the vegan cheese/yoghurt.

You probably know this, but keep feeding him gluten products until he has the biopsy or it won't give accurate results.

You're in Sydney - there is a great bakery called Imperial Gluten Free in Rydalmere. My 5 yr old DD loves all their products. Coeliac Australia in Wahroonga is also very helpful. My DD went to a private daycarein Five Dock 1 then 2 days per week and they catered for her GF diet. They paid for a dietician to train staff (from the Coeliac Society), I bought them ingredient books and made up posters for the kitchen. I worked with the Director to make an action plan. She then attended a pre school in Abbotsford and they did not provide food, but they did occasional cooking activities and party food that we simply made GF. I was very anxious, but it worked very well and my DD had a great and healthy time at both places.
