Below is the ad I am placing for a babysitter, I have never done this before, so am after opinions, please


Wanted a reliable, honest caring person to look after 2 children (ages 11 and 6) from 3pm- 5.30pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Tues from 3pm-8pm

Duties will Include:
*Pick Children up from School and bring home
*Supervise Afternoon Routine
*Heat and Serve Dinner on Tuesdays
*Supervise Showers and Homework on Tuesdays

Essential requirements:
*Reliable, registered, fully insured car (which will be checked on interview)
*Drivers Licence
*Good Driving Record
*Current First Aid Certificate
*Experience with Children
*Current References

It is a card, like a driver's licence, so you can sight it to confirm

The requirements will be the same for a family day care provider (which I have found one I can contact tomorrow, who will care for them in our home). That way I can claim 50% back.

It is only for 1 yr then next year I will pay someone to bring Jack home and Hayley (who will be in highschool) will be home to babysit.

You have to meet certain eligibility criteria to be able to claim the rebate for in-home care. When we had in-home care, we also had to have our house inspected to make sure it met the same requirements as for family daycare (which isn't too hard), and our carer was supposed to do a quick inspection checklist every time she came. I did pay $25/hour, but at the time we qualified for the rebate.

I dont think it works that way in NSW. I think they have to fill in a working with childrens check which Ive heard can take weeks to come back.

Yep. No card in NSW. There will soon be an online register that the individual maintains, which would be easier, but at the moment, the employer has to lodge on their behalf.
