We often have pitas, burritos, wraps, fajitas, etc. and find ourselves with leftovers of the 'bread' part (ie. the wraps). Invariably they go stale within a day or two and we end up giving them to the dog (after soaking them in water to make them soft). Obviously this is a bit wasteful but I don't know what else to do with them. Any suggestions please?

Thanks!

Save me Barry!
I don't know if this works but someone here once mentioned toasting them and using them like corn chips for dip

Cut into small squares or triangles, spread out on a baking tray, spray lightly with oil spray, sprinkle with salt & pepper, then toast in the oven (or BBQ with roasting hood) until crispy. Makes great "crackers" for having with dips & they seem to keep forever (in an airtight container)! biggrin.gif

I usually make quesadillas... Sandwich 2 wraps with a yummy, gooey, cheesy filling and serve with guacamole, sour cream, salsa etc.

Tear or cut into pieces, lightly mist with oil or brush with beaten egg white and sprinkle with cummin seeds (or sesame, poppy etc. etc) and crisp in a low oven.

Especially delicious with hommus and eggplant dips

Freeze them and then as others have suggested, cut them into small bits and cover them with olive oil, salt and pepper and toast for a few minutes. It goes great with many dips, especially hommus. Also if you like a type of mixed spice called zaatar it goes really great on toasted bread for dips.

Make wraps with cold meat and salads before they go stale - if you seal them up they usually last quite a few days without going stale. Then, if they are still around to go stale do as PPs have suggested and do toasted wraps (sandwich press) or grill and eat with dip.

Semper Fi. You rat, you fry.
Make lasagne and use them instead of pasta. It just has to sit for an hour or so before eating or its a bit runny. Soo yum! We never use pasta sheets anymore.
