Usually for a birthday in my family we'd all have a really nice dinner, either at home or a restaurant. Then for some time just us, DP and I would take a weekend and head off into the wilderness. Generally, we'd bushwalk along the coast, head up to the mountains for a few days, kayak to an isolated spot somewhere or arrange a climbing trip with friends. Fairly extravagant, really, having a weekend away for your birthday but it's lovely to have the memories and camping trips aren't actually very expensive at all. Anyway, my birthday is in about a week and this year needs some changes made because I'm 24 weeks with our first bub and I'm just not up to an overnight walk with a 15 kilo pack, so I have *no* idea what I want to do to celebrate. I really need to think of something because this is probably going to be an important birthday to remember, being the last one before we become parents.
So, EB, any ideas for cheap(ish) ways I could celebrate my birthday this year? Happy to do an overnight trip, prefer to get outdoors but I can't do any heavy duty walking/lifting/carrying.
