Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself, I've been a long time onlooker of the site and thought it was about time I joined and contributed! I'm a first year midwifery student at ACU in Melbourne, and am looking forward to getting to know some of you original.gif

Yes actually I have learnt alot especially about more specialised things such as amnios, assisted conception and lots complex care cases etc. Peoples stories are really interesting and you think to yourself like god thats not what Im taught at uni or like id never do that!!
I'm first lot of students going through the double degree in WA so bad being the guinea pigs, people not knowing us, degree a bit unorganised etc but overall love it. How about you?

Also found a few continuity of care ladies aslo which is awesome original.gif

Yeh I'm loving the course so far, it's a lot of work, but I'm used to it, I've already done a degree in Social Work, which I finished in 2011 so gone straight back into it! lol Midwifery's always been my passion though, so happy to finally be doing it. I completely understand about being the guinea pig, when I did social work we were the first year to do the double Masters degree, felt so unorganised! I'm also hoping to find some ladies for the continuity of care project. I think that in our course you need as many contacts and resources as you can get, so it's so good to have this website. original.gif

Hi everyone and Welcome.

Could I please direct you all to the Doulas and Midwives section of our boards which can be found here as there are strict rules regarding how and what can be posted on the boards.

I will close this thread now but feel free to post over in the Doula and Midwives section for further chatting etc.

Thankyou all for choosing such a wonderful rewarding (and no doubt challenging at times) career.

Kind regards

Ali
