Was wondering if any of you would consider buying a secondhand camera? I am wanting to buy a nikon D3200, do you think it is worth the risk of a secondhand one? They are a relatively new camera so is only a few months old??

Opinions please......

I would be OK buying a 2nd hand camera, depending on price and it's condition obviously.

Are you able to try it out before you buy?

Also are you thinking 2nd hand purely for saving money? There are huge savings to be made buying brand new by searching around for a good deal. I recently bought a Canon 5D Mark III body new for around $1000 less then major retailers were selling it for by doing lots of research online

blue4me, which seller did you use?

babyfirst, I would probably only buy secondhand if I could see it in person. I wouldn't buy it online.

rbat I ended up using Kogan. I am really happy with the camera and delivery was fast. It was on sale, just under $3000 when I bought it, now it is just over. I also got new lenses online from camera warehouse, cameras direct and kogan. Ended up saving a lot of money

And OP, like rbat I wouldn't buy 2nd hand if I could not physically see and try out the camera first.

Thanks, I will check them out. I have my eye on an upgrade but want to find it at the best price.
