Hi all,
I am attending a morning tea for a work colleague who is going on maternity leave. I have been on leave from work since I was diagnosed in September, and this will be my first time back at work for a visit. I have volunteered to make a cake, so now am thinking about what sort. The last one I did for a similar do was a for tiered red velvet number which went down a treat, so I have a lot to live up to! Ideas and links to recipes appreciated. Thanks, Julie |

How about a Hummingbird cake? I always think they're impressive.

This is my go-to: it never fails and you can dress it up or down however you like.

I highly recommend this mud cake. There are some variations you can try at the bottom. I've made it several times and its always turned out really well.

If I want to impress I do an Orange and Almond cake or a Lumberjack Cake. The Lumberjack cake is a good old womens weekly recipe with dates and apples but it is delicious and gets rave reviews every time.
Happy to provide either recipe. |

I made this recently and got rave reviews. And it's easy to do:
