My friend has recently got into cake making (which I have no idea about) and I'm wanting to buy her a nice present to go in her new house. Can anyone suggest anything either that can be used or decorative?
Thanks |

What about some flower punches -I think they're called! So your friend can have a go at making some icing flowers. You can get all sorts and sizes.

I love cake decorating (its what I spend my spare time doing and the thing that I love the most are my icing knives, you can get them from basically any kitchen store in a variety of sizes (I have about 8 different ones at the moment) and they range in costs. They are similar to a butter knike but are completely flat with straight edges and a curved end.
Hope this helps |

What about a small lazy susan (so she can spin the cake to decorate it without sliding it around)?
Or a planet cake cookbook. The mudcake recipe is yummo! |

A turntable, a offset spatula, disposable piping bags, gel colour sets, a cake leveler, a couple of things of fondant.....
They are my fav things that I use the most. Or a gift certificate to a local cake shop. |

I'd go with a cake leveler, I use mine so often and have recently gifted a friend with one as she was using a bread knife to do the job and making a horrid mess of her cakes!

An awesome cake stand to display her finished products on (those she makes for her household)? Then it can be a decorative thing for her home too.

Have you thought about giving her one of those vintage cake trays? They have these cute designs that anyone could appreciate their beauty and value.
