I've had an automatic Saeco coffee machine for a couple of years now and they're great. Paid around $2200 at the time and got heaps of freebies thrown in from Coffex. I purchased mine from the coffex place but I see that Harvey Norman now stock them, so perhaps you could buy one on the interest free deal they have going now and again. Just a word, the one I have is a double boiler so it does the coffee(espresso) and frothing the milk at the same time - no need to wait. The exact name of it is - hang on a min I'll just check brb - Saeco Royal Cappuccino - they are fabulous original.gif

Think I'm gonna have a latte now wink.gif

Saeco is definitely the best brand coffee maker - you can pick up a non-automatic one for around $549 called Via Venezia. Gaggia is also a very good brand - their cheapest one is around $349 I think. Best to stick to Italian machines, since they know how to make espresso best!

The higher the bar pump the better coffee you will get(17 bar is excellent, wouldn't go less than 15 bars).

Most places selling a big range will go through the pros and cons with you and explain everything. Saeco is the only brand that has a stainless steel interior.

Good luck, coffee machines are great to have!
