Hi Ladies

Advice needed please.

Yesterday I woke up with a tender spot on my right breast which I have been rubbing in case it was a blocked milk duct. This morning I have woken up with less tenderness however my breast has red blotches on it. I don't have any other symptoms such as fever etc.

I would appreciate it if anyone could give me their opinion as to whether this could be the beginning of mastitis and whether I should be going to a GP immediately or wait a few day?

Thanks in advance.

hi Kathy
I have a horrible history of mastitis, and what you're describing sure sounds like it to me!
Mastitis can turn very nasty, very quickly, so I personally would be of to the dr asap!
In the mean time, massage it (long showers are wonderful for this!) and try and turn bubs so that when they feed, they are drawing as much as possible from where the blockage is iykwim?

I just recently got over a bout of Mastitis and yep, sounds like you may have it!

I would definately say to go to the DR asap and get some antibiotics right away... no point letting those bugs turn nasty.

I found relief from hot water massage in the shower!
