My DD is six months old and has been on solids for about three weeks now. (loves her food). We do a Bottle in the morning, then solids late morning with a bottle, then just a bottle in the mid afternoon and then solids and a bottle at night time before bed. Then also has a bottle at about 1-3am aswell.
I have just introduce a solid meal in the morning as breakfast. Im not sure if im doing the right thing. But I am just wondering, does she still have all her four bottles during the day or will she drop one, like the mid afternoon. A friend of mine told me her DD dropped her 6pm bottle and just had solids. Any advice would be great. Thank you |

Hi,
I was advised by the MCHN that they should continue having 4 bottles until 9 months at which time solids become more important than formula/breast milk. Having said that my DS has gone 1 day where he's only had three bottles and it didn't seem to bother him. Personally, If he was going to drop any bottle I would definitely not make it his 6pm bottle as this is part of his bed time routine. It sounds like you're doing fine, just go easy on the solids for now and make sure she's getting her bottles in. Good luck! |

I still give my DD four bottles a day although 2 are just half sizes.
7am: full bottle 11am: half bottle 3pm: half bottle 6:30pm: full bottle. She still doesn't drink them all though but I offer just in case she does. Liz |
