Save a horse ride a cowboy
DH and i are fed up with the city life style, so bloudy expensive and near impossibl to survive. It's becoming a joke in Sydney, it's so bloudy expensive. DH and i are constantly stressed and are talking about trying the country lifestyle.

DH is born and bread in the country, yet i'm a city girl. I love the country and am all for trying it.

WE both have good paying jobs, but are un happy, and miserable here, but i'm scared to chuck my job in if i can't get a transfer.

SO who has made the city to country move? Do you regret it? Is it cheaper living?

I'm not worried about missing things like big malls etc.

WE are looking at bathurst etc, near our friends.

So let me know the pros and cons of your move.

Pros - no peak hour, no commuting original.gif cleaner air, less stressful lifestyle, Sunday breakfast at the beach.

Cons - lack of services (hospital care, specialists etc). Shopping you can live with but it can get frustrating at times lol.

Petrol will be more and you will need more to get to Sydney for shopping. If you are living in a town, you may find travel cheaper if you can walk, bike ride.

Groceries tend to be more expensive, trades people can be more expensive and Gp's can be more expensive.

May be worth posting as a bathurst qn and comparing costs for general things.

Some country schools are also behind the city as teachers often start in the country and move back to the city.
