Apologies if this is a dodgy question but pls can someone tell me how I measure rise to see whether a pair of woollen shorties are going to fit my DS?

Hi Fiona

A lovely friend recently sent me this when I had the same question biggrin.gif

For covers/woolies
Measure with a flexible tape measure or peice of string (and then measure that)
Waist- around the belly button
Hips-over nappy and around the widest part of your child's hips
Rise- measure from centre back to centre front where you would like the pants to fit over a nappy (go between the legs from back to front)
Inner Seam- again with nappy on, measure from crotch down to ankle(for longies) or where you would like the pants to end. Its most accurate to do this standing but you can do it lying down.

And to measure for nappies, just do it with the nappy off!!
