Just read on tmz.com that Chris Benoit and his wife and son were found dead in their home...
Hopefully there wont be a huge coverup like the Eddie Guerrero death. It said he was scheduled to appear last night on wrestling but couldnt due to a family emergency! Hmmm maybe a murder suicide? |

OMG - this is such a shock. They have been a bit worried about him since Eddie's death, but who would think something like this would happen.
I am just so shocked and just want to cry. Another young life cut so short..... They have apparently cancelled RAW tonight, which was supposed to be a 3 hour memorial to Vince after his 'death'. Vince McMahon went to the ring and sent all the fans home and said that his "death" was fake but that Chris' death was not fake and that they will have a tribute to Chris as they did with Eddie. Wow, just really really shocked! |

Not a big wrestling fan but my hubby is and due to work hasn't been able to watch much lately, although did see Vince McMahon's "death". What happened to Eddie Guerrero? I don't think DH knows about that one.

Eddie died about 2 and a bit years ago. He had a heart attack and his nephew Chavo found him in his hotel room.
This whole thing with Chris Benoit keeps getting more and more bizarre. I feel so sorry for him. At the moment it looks like he has killed his whole family and then himself. But for someone to be that desperate to do something like that is just so so sad. I suppose more and more details will come out in the next few days. |

Police conference said wife was bound by feet and hands was strangled and so was the son. Both had bibles next to them and Chris Benoit was found hanging in his weight room. So bizarre. Also was stated that steroids and other drugs were found in the house and that his wife had filed for divorce some years ago because of domestic violence.
That whole Eddie Guerrero thing was a bit suss to me...a heart attack? I wonder if wrestlers get drug tested? When i read about the steroids...i wondered about 'roid rage'. Wasnt the wwe replaced scheduled programming to do a 3hr special on him? I just dont think that would be appropriate if he is indeed a double murderer! |

WWE has replaced their schedule to do a 3 hour tribute to Chris Benoit. Yes he is a double murderer, BUT he was also a very much loved member of the WWE who had a lot of fans and people who are very upset about what happened. Also at the time that they did the tribute no details were known, it was just known that the whole family was killed.
They have said that they found prescription steroids, which given his past injury history isn't surprising that he was on them. Doctors do prescribe things like steroids for major injuries to help the healing process. I think that some sort of 'roid rage' happened but I still think it so sad that he felt so bad that he couldn't seek help or sad to think that he just snapped and it all just happened. As for Eddie, his heart had enlarged. It was through years and years of drug abuse. He had been clean and sober for many years, but the toll that those sort of drugs takes on your body is worse than anybody really knows. It was purely a heart attack. As for Sheri Martel (who just passed), her death is suspicious and they are waiting on toxicology results. WWE have a strict drugs policy whereby if they find their superstars are on them then they get 2 chances and that is it. They have sacked many superstars for drug abuse and some make it back and some don't. Jeff Hardy was sacked for drug abuse and it was actually Vince who put him into rehab and told him that if he got clean then he could come back. He is subject to frequent drug tests. Mercury was sacked for repeated drug abuse, Randy Orton was suspended at one stage for drugs, Chris Masters was also suspended for drugs (notice he isn't as big as he used to be). So they do have a very strict policy on it. Yes I have no life........my whole family loves the wrestling, so hence we know a lot about it..... |

Taken from WWE.com - spoken by Vince McMahon at the beginning of ECW
QUOTE Last night on Monday Night Raw, the WWE presented a special tribute show, recognizing the career of Chris Benoit. However, now some 26 hours later, the facts of this horrific tragedy are now apparent. Therefore, other than my comments, there will be no mention of Mr. Benoit tonight. On the contrary, tonight's show will be dedicated to everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident. This evening marks the first step of the healing process. Tonight, the WWE performers will do what they do better than anyone else in the world--entertain you.

I used to be a big WWE wrestling fan and found out about Benoit last night. Absolutely tragic.
