Life is like a box of chocolates
Hi there,

I have been a member of EB for a little while now and was just curious to how other members use it efficiently.

At present I have subscribed to any topics within the forum that interest me and EB sends me emails telling me when a new post has been made within that topic. Doing it this way, sometimes I end up with 100-200 emails a day. I have thought it might be easier to view the active discussions for the day, its just that sometimes I dont get to go onto EB everyday as there is no access at work.

I was just curious as to how other use EB efficiently so that they dont miss anything that they may be interested in

Thanks
Kez

oh gawd blink.gif certainly not like that!! ROFL. I hate my inbox at the best of times, don't need more crap.

I just browse the forums I am interested in, and click on the orange boxes to go the last unread post in a topic I have been reading.

The only topic I would consider subscribing to is my due in group, as I often forget about it laugh.gif

Welcome Amelie! January 18, 2011.
I generally don't subscribe to any bits unless I have posted a question and I'm waiting on some answers (but not always)or its something I wouldn't expect alot of answers to but I am interested in. So don't subscribe to anything very often.

I usually just peruse the WDYT and the misc sections going back a couple of pages to whats been posted in the last 24 hours or so as per PP

I just browse the forums I am interested in, and click on the orange boxes to go the last unread post in a topic I have been reading.

I will scroll through the front forum page and if a topic grabs me from the most recently posted stuff in each forum I will stop and read that, and then maybe more from that forum if it grabs me.

Sometimes if I am struggling to find something interesting to read, I will go back and look at what I have posted in and see if there are any more replies in those threads. Or I might "stalk" a member and look at threads that they have posted in. ph34r.gif Or I do a search on keywords for topics that I am interested in.

I read HEAPS on EB. I generally will jump on and read while I am breast feeding. I am a bit of a reader, but it is really hard to balance a book and feed at the same time.

I used Today's Active Topics to navigate my way around EB.

I do have certain forums & threads I visit first, but after that it's TAT.

4. No more.
I check in on my parents groups and buddy group, then if I have time I browse through general section. If there is a topic I am following in the general section (for eg), then I just click on the orange square to catch up to where I was.

If I'm interested in a thread I'll subscribe to it but just so that it shows up under "View Topics" under my Subscriptions - I don't get emails. Then when I get a chance I'll go in and read any unread posts.

Otherwise its just Today's active discussions.

Only forum I specifically go to are the TRs. blush.gif

Mum to 4 gorgeous children and proud loser of 22kgs
I have specific windows that are open on EB, they are my favourites and I just click on them and refresh and go from there.

I have tried today's active discussions, but it just didn't work for me.

That's what I do too. Otherwise I'd end up with a few hundred emails a day too!!!
