I am stuck about what to get my DD for christmas this year. I noticed the new fisher price little people in the k mart sale. Do you think a five and a half year old is to old for little people.
I am mainly thinking about the Sarah Lynn And Her Camping Adventure and Little People Sonya Lee & Her Pet Salon

Auy input would be great. thanks

I love my girls
Hi, I am a big fan of Little People. My daughter is getting the house for her 2nd birthday. I wanted to uy my 4yr old nephew some for his birthday but my sister said that he wouldn't play with it much. In saying that, if my daughter is playing with it, my 7 year old niece will definitely join in. The new range seem to have movable arms and legs and are a little less babyish. I think it is gorgeous and would be tempted for a 5 year old. Have you thought about stearing her into that aisle of KMart? Five year olds will generally tell you if they like it or not.

Good luck original.gif

My DD is 5 on Sunday and she would much prefer Littlest Pet Shop over Little People, but she still plays with her Little People, but not constantly like when she was 3.

My four year got heaps of little people for her birthday the other week and LOVES IT.
The thing is that they do change so much in one year.
My Niece turns 5 on christmas eve and I am really struggling to find something she will like.
Things are either to 'grown up' or to 'babyish' unsure.gif .

and baby makes 4....
We have put Harley's little people away as he doesn't play with them anymore. He loved them at 2 & 3 but at 4, didn't seem to touch them as much.

I probably have to agree with the previous posters and say that I wouldn't buy little people for a 5 year old. Although the ones you mentioned are aimed at older kids than what the other Little People stuff is.

Like a PP mentioned, why not take her into the toy section and see if she takes a liking to it.

Good Luck,

K

My 6yo thinks they're gorgeous, but *I* won't be buying her any. I'd go for Polly Pockets or Little Pet Shop stuff instead - which she thinks are gorgeous too.

My 6 year old niece loves littlest pet shop. I think LIttle People are a tad young.

Baby my little ponys are popular, and strawberry shortcake too, as well as cabbage patch dolls and baby borns. 5 is a tricky age, IMO still to young for bratz but to old for all the Fisher Price toys sad.gif

One thing I want to get my DD for Xmas is a see-saw, one that spins and goes up and down! Cool as!

I find the same as others. My 5yo still likes to play with LP but they're not her favourites anymore. 6.5yo will happily play with them too; even 10yo will join in occasionally. But I haven't bought any new bits and pieces for a long time.

The camping one looks pretty cool. I'd probably consider it for my 5yo because she'd enjoy it and it's not expensive (and I hope to have another baby in the not too distant future). I wouldn't buy my 5yo any of the larger sets.
