I AM OFFICIALLY NOT IN MY 20'S ANYMORE :(
i have been steralizing the good old hospital milton tablets way still and now i have a larger variety of teats and dummys, bottles etc so obviously i dont want to keep changing the water every 24hrs for the rest of my baby years sad.gif and i havent really looked in to steralizing 'rules'.after you use the steralizing container in the microwave and you have made up your bottles and put them in the fridge, where do you put all the other steralized things ie.dummys, spare caps, bottles etc? because wont they be not sterile(spelling?)if they are just put away or do you re-sterile them before using them? i know this might sound stupid but no one has realy ever mentioned it. what do you all do? thanks.. leesa.

As per Jodie777

OUr hospital told us not to sterilise for the reason you mentioned above. As soon as it comes out of the sterilizer or sterile water it automatically is non-sterile anymore.

We wash in hot soapy water and then dry on a bottle rack (so they fully dry) in the sun. We then fill the bottles with boiled water and leave on the bench in the sun.

Sunlight and air drying does a wonderful job. He is 5 months and we have had no issues.

another one who does not steralise a thing. i use hot soapy water and let things air dry. i also purchased a dishwaser insert from toys r us that teats etc will be able to go in - not because i think they need to go in the dishwasher but because i am lazy blush.gif

i didn't steralise with DD1, she was bottle fed and is nearly 4 now.

all the best
