Hello all,
I went to purchase a piece of fish today and the owner of the shop said that the oil they use contains - 'peanut flavouring'. We didn't buy any food today however if my child is allergic to peanuts can they eat things cooked in this oil? I was wondering does anyone know if it is made out of REAL peanuts or is it just a flavour (No actual peanuts of course its only peanut flavour)? Has any one looked into this before? Any help would be great. Thanks, Yasmin This post has been edited by mtold: 05/01/2008, 03:40 PM |

Hi there,
I would ask the shop owner for the exact container of oil they use (or a proper ingredients list). I do know that a friend checked chicken satay skewers from a supermarket and they had absolutely no peanut in them- just flavouring. |

I noticed this too on a packet of satay noodles - they didn't contain any peanut!! I still don't think I could give it to Riley though.
