Lately my 21 month old has been a right little sook/winger/tantrum throwing. I went to a friends house this morning and the whole time he was winging, being naughty, throwing tantrums or crying. I have had him checked for ear infections only 5 days ago, all was clear. He has got a runny nose, but not sure if thats anything other than allergies.
So does anyone else have this happening at the moment? Will it ever end? dry.gif

Haha, my LO doesn't always do this, but some days he does seem to put it on quite a bit! He does the whole pretend fall over, the very fake sooking and looking back at me to make sure I am watching...

He can still be quite clingy and crying alot at times to, wanting to be right with me if we have visitors over etc.

I think I need to check his mouth and see if there are more teeth coming through at this age?, he is often sucking his fingers at the moment. Not even sure if there are more teeth due at this age? (my DS is 20 mths)

As mygorgeousbub said it could be a put on (which mine do ALL the time!), but it may not be. Do you trust your Drs? After the following incident I don't...

DD went to the Dr for a running nose and high temp, Dr said the standard "it is a virus, can not give you anything - go home and continue the nightless sleeps (in other words "suck it up").

Anyway, this was on a Thursday. On Sat my oldest had a weepy ear (off we went to the 24 hour Dr) and she had an infection which required a repeat prescription of antibiotics. So I am thinking... DH took the little one who had been to the Dr just a few days earlier also - FULL RESPIRATORY INFECTION (worse than my older DD) so both were on antibiotics.

My lesson - Don't trust the Doctors unless you have tested them! And trust your instincts. I would not have taken her to the Dr unless I felt something was really wrong.

Yep, DS is 20mths and for the last week, he's had a really big bad tantrum once a day (used to be be more infrequent). I think it's an age thing. Who knows when they end? Ever? oomg2.gif

We went shopping after i posted this topic, and while out completly cracked a wobbly every 5 minutes, i gave him nurofen and put him to bed and he went straight to sleep, so im getting him checked out again tomorrow, as he is prone to ear infections (7 in 9 months! oomg2.gif )Glad to see im not the only one!! ddance.gif

Good idea OP. Sounds like something a bit more than just a bad mood!

Hi Sopie,

I am hearing you! My DS 22 mths is having tantrums nearly every day, some days he just looses the plot that bad that he doesn't know what it was that he wanted anymore!!!!!! I must admit shopping has not been too bad, I take alot of different snack and drinks and a DH along to try to entertain while I do the shopping. Strapping them into a stroller at all times works better than trying to chase him around the shops and the trick is keep moving so he has new things to look at.

But as for the ear thing, get a referal to a ENT specialist. That is alot of ear infections and our DS has been a new little boy. Sleeps perfectly, is a very happy boy and everyone that deals with him now say how much happier he seems within him self. Also I think from previous posts you are in the Adelaide Hills, when asking for a referal get 2, get second opinions and don't be afraid to travel down the hill for your referals - if you know what I mean. I don't want you to feel guilty or bad but would you like your DS to get a perferated / ruptured ear drum due to ear infections and loose hearing? Just get 2 opinions for peace of mind.
