Just wondering if anyone else has to go thru the arguments of mobile phone bills being too high!! Ok I am on a cap and ok I go over that cap every month, sometimes by a little but this month it was a extra $40.

I don't see it as a big deal, yes i went over but not much I can do about it and yes I do text way too many people etc but DH sees the phone as should be used if need to contact someone etc not just for general chit chat over text but sometimes Idon't have to call friends so I send them quick sms and then yes it turns in 5 but if i was on the phone, it would be half hour or more we are chatting and you haven't always got time for that.

I am sick of every bill him whinging and complaining, he treats me like I am his teenage daughter not his wife. He spends money too on beer and he has his foxtel so why can't I have my luxury spending.

I don't see the deal, he sees it as $40 down the drain. Am I right to argue that he's treating me like a teenager or am I acting like one in wasting money??

Maybe you should look into a higher cap.

DH doesn't see my mobile bills or my credit card bills. I like it that way dev (6).gif He trusts me though.

Life is too short to fight about bills, you need to find a way to work through it with your partner. I think the fact that you both have different "luxuries" that you spend money on is a good point to bring up.

No we don't.

I don't know. You say you ALWAYS go over your cap - to me that is pretty irresponsible. When something is budgeted, I find it annoying when it is massively over what was expected. Something else has to give.

Perhaps it is time to look into a bigger cap for you.

Change to an SMS based plan.
If you are paying your bill, who is he to tell you know to use your phone?

"You drink and watch Foxtel. I text. Deal with it."

That's what I'd say!

We don't. I know mine will be over my cap this month as I was away and using my mobile a lot. If one of us was regularly over the cap, we would discuss whether the cap was unrealistic and needed to be higher.

I'd also not hesitate to point out that if he has booze and foxtel, then a higher cap is fair enough. $40 isn't all that much money in the scheme of things.

We both have work phones, so no. I do think it is unfair of him to spend money on beer and Foxtel, but complain about $40 extra on a phone bill. Perhaps shop around for a better deal?

Results clear...the stress migraine was all for nothing.
We have 3 phones on the one account, so if one person doesn't use their free sms's or free talktime it carries over to the other accounts.

Our 2 phones on the one business account, so I use all of DH's unused spend. It is free between the two of us
