Hi Girls,

I am slowing starting my MCN stash and came across THESE on ebay

I was wondering if anyone had used them ? I am a tad concerned with the lining on how absorbent they will be.

I was wanting to use these plus Prefolds or similar with Covers at the Newborn stage.

Any other recommendations for Prefolds

TIA

I haven't tried this particular type but bought a couple of sets from ebay sellers awhile ago. I found they were okay if you're happy to buy some bamboo or other more absorbant boosters and some well fitting covers. These cheaper nappies often don't have good elastic for containing poo, and only being cotton, don't tend to be as absorbant as other styles. Having said that they are cheap, and might be worth a try.

One set I bought that didn't work very well my nephew now uses for his teddies original.gif so not a total loss.

They only have 4 layers of flanelette as the absorbancy so they arent going to be hugely absobant, a one wet nappy (if that).

the flannelette would worry me, its not very absorbent though might suffice for a newborn depending on how heavy they wet.

good price though, they'd be better or similar to the bigW/kmart ones lol.

I haven't and wouldn't use them. They're made of flanelette and no other absorbant fabric. As MichP said they're really only be good for one wet if you're lucky. You'd be changing bubs more often which means you'll need more nappies than usual and therefore wouldn't really work out cheaper anyway.

I know they sound like a good deal pricewise but honestly I'd rather get something in good condition 2nd hand from the trading room than waste my $$ on something like this from eBay or similar. It will be more cost effective in the long run.
