One family. Four people. Four different households, four different priorities.
This is just the in-laws - I honestly don't understand why it has to be so DIFFICULT!

I really loathe Christmas this year, it's a f*cking hassle I could do without. I'm only worried about making my own kids happy, everyone else can GGF!

Yup I agree

My family are arguing over where to have chrissy because of dogs!
Yep my mum wont leave her dog overnight to come to my place I said dog is okay but then sister wont leave her dog at her place on it's own, wants to leave it at mums with her dog (doesn't want to bring it to my place fine with me I don't want it here) No one wants to leave their dogs alone for a day so chrissy is now at mum's apparently so her and sisters dogs can be there!!!!what about my dog???So it is okay for me to leave MY dog on his own? I don't give a sh*t!!! we all live in the same ****ing town for crying out loud and there are 6 kids involved....isn't chrissy for the kids?????apparently not in our family....it is all about the dogs....

wow sorry that turned into a bit of a rant blush.gif

This year, it'll just be me, DH & our two children. We wont be seeing any extended family this year because of silly in-fighting and what not.

I can't wait! biggrin.gif

I overheard parts of a phone conversation between DH and his sister that lasted FOUR HOURS detailing all the things right and wrong from Christmases past. There is an age gap between them so they remember very different family circumstances from their childhood and view the entire family celebration very differently. All we want to do is enjoy the day with nobody getting too stressed.

Mind you, this isn't really about Christmas, this is about the mechanations of a dysfunctional family.
I guess this post should really be in venting.

Well we only have my parents and dh's mum but already there's issues.

Up til now dh's mum has lived 3 hours away and we have not wanted to travel for the past few years due to pregnancy or having a little baby.

But now they've moved in just around the corner, and as we have not spent Christmas day with us for awhile she feels we have to go around there this year.

In the past year 2 new babies have joined my family and I would like to go and spend Christmas with my family, which consists of 9 adults and 5 kids and lots of fun. I do not want to spend the entire day with just my mil and her husband.

Of course we have to see her at some time during the day but I just know she's going to get sh*tty that we wont be having lunch there or spending the whole day with them rolleyes.gif
