Hi everyone original.gif ,

This is a quick reference guide by car make and model where members have had success with 3 carseats/boosters across the back seat.
For more detailed information of positions please refer to the original thread linked here and an even older thread here.

It would be great if you could continue to post your success stories here and I will periodically add them to the list
, I'm sure these are of great assistance to other members when facing their 3 across the back seat car-seat configuration conundrums!

Regards,

I've childproofed my house... But they're still getting in
Our third child was not exactly um.... planned and we had just purchased a smaller car.
My two girls were both in maxiriders but my eldest will be almost six when thebaby makes an appearance. I went to the baby shop and made them physically put these three seats in the back of my car (well they used one of my Maxis) so I know they definitely fit.... phew!

I've managed to fit three seats across the back of my Kia Cerato

2006 Subaru Liberty wagon.

SNS Compaq Nougat RR, SNS Compaq Nougat FF, SNS Compaq Nougat RR.

Checked by seat-fitting company, OK in this combination, but unfortunately won't fit properly when it's time to change the rearwards seats to forward facing.

As our eldest not old enough for a booster, we tried many options and this was all we could make work

2009 Audi A3
2 x Compaq FF + 1 Compaq RF
2 x Compaq FF + 1 SNS hire capsule
1 SNS hire capsule, 1 Compaq FF, 1 Senator Hipod (in this order, starting from passenger side, this is actually a better fit than the 2 Compaqs because of the way the Hipod and Compaq fit next to each other)

Subaru Liberty 2003 (MY04) wagon

Just had this combination checked by a restraint fitter today and it works.

SNS Meridian AHR FF drivers side, SNS Hiliner SG middle, SNS Compaq Deluxe RF passenger side.

To get it to work I had to pad out the bucket shape seats with towels to make it more of a bench. There is still clearance between the side seats and the door and the booster is able to be done up reasonably easily. Also needs a stiff foam wedge on the seat back to stabilize the Compaq seat at the right angle but I found this is required regardless of the seat padding otherwise there is too much side to side movement especially once you tighten the top tether (hope that makes sense) - this was suggested by the restraint fitter.

1998 Subaru Forester (not sure if these are already there).
RF compaq deluxe, harnessed maxi rider, RF compaq deluxe.
Rf compaq deluxe, harnessed maxi rider, infa vario booster.

(note: for a 3 across in this car with a maxi rider, it HAS to go in the middle. it doesn't leave enough room for 2 more seats if it's on the side, because of the car's rear seat cushion contours)
