Hi,
Ds is 1 on Sunday, we have 8 adults and 4 boys coming, so we are going to do a finger food menu with mini hot dogs for the boys as they don't eat much. What do you think of the following: Home made Chicken sausage rolls baby bocconcini and cherry tomato skewers dips and bread arancini balls chicken skewers cooked prawns with a dipping sauce wonton cases filled with ???? pappadum stacks - mini pappadums with a little Greek salad inside proscuitto wrapped asparagus. Any other ideas, am I missing anything or have too much of anything, I can't really visualise anything this morning. Thanks This post has been edited by threeplusone: 21/03/2011, 11:09 AM |

Sounds delicious, but I do think you have got a lot of food! Will you find preparation stressful? If so, I think you could easily drop 1 or 2 things off the list. Especially as I imagine there will be sweets/cake too. If you like to cook and find it easy, then go for it, but be prepared for leftovers.
Also, I would be inclined to add some fruit in somewhere. DS turned 1 earlier this month and I did some skewers with watermelon, rockmelon, grapes, strawberries and a couple of soft lollies/marshmellows thrown in. He was too young but 3yo DD and cousins loved them.. |

Sounds great!
As for your wonton cases, I have served these a couple of times and they are very popular http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/18689/avoc...sa+wonton+cases I also think fruit skewers or a platter would be good. Hope your DS has a great birthday |

Oh yes forgot to mention there will be a chocolate cake for the birthday cake and skewers are a great idea to go with that.
Hunch- the chicken skewers, prawns, arancini balls will be already prepared so hopefully not too fiddly to do the rest. Will have to do some the night before I suppose? aria - thanks for that link. |

Yum! Can I come??
Try putting a fresh basil leaf on your boconcini and tomato skewers - yum! If it was me, I'd probably do a little bit less, but if you're happy to do it all then go for it |
